Where We Work, And How A Market Gets Assessed

Exclusivity only means something if the territory is defined by postcode and honestly assessed.

One tree business per territory

Exclusivity is the whole point, so it is defined tightly. Your territory is a written list of postcodes. While you hold it, enquiries generated from those postcodes go to you and to nobody else, and we do not take on a second tree business inside the same list.

That also means availability is genuinely limited. When a metro area is taken, it is taken, and we will say so rather than selling you an overlapping version of it.

How we assess a market before quoting

Search demand. How many people in those postcodes search for tree work in a typical month, and how that moves across the year. If the volume cannot support a campaign, the territory is declined.

Competitive depth. How many established tree businesses are bidding and ranking in that market. More competition means higher cost per click and a longer runway on organic work.

Job mix. Some markets skew heavily to removals, others to maintenance and pruning. That changes both what a lead costs and what it is worth to you — see what a tree service lead is worth.

Seasonality. Storm and cyclone activity concentrates demand into short, intense windows that dominate the annual total in some markets and barely register in others.

What the capital city markets look like

Brisbane, Gold Coast and Sunshine Coast. Storm season from roughly November through February drives the most concentrated demand in the country, with large mature gums, poincianas and figs over Queenslanders and post-war housing. Competitive, expensive per click, and extremely profitable for operators who answer the phone at night.

Sydney and the Central Coast. The deepest market and the most contested. Established inner and middle-ring suburbs bring access problems — narrow frontages, rear lanes, overhead power — which favours operators equipped for difficult removals rather than the cheapest quote.

Melbourne and Geelong. Large volumes of maintenance and pruning work alongside removals, with significant demand driven by insurance and pre-sale property work. Generally lower cost per click than Sydney or Brisbane.

Perth. Distinct market with its own species mix and a long dry season. Less storm-driven volatility and steadier year-round demand.

Adelaide, Canberra, Newcastle and Hobart. Smaller but often better value, with fewer serious bidders. These are frequently the territories where a modest budget goes furthest.

We do not publish a live availability list because it changes weekly and a stale list is worse than none. Ask us about your postcodes and you will get a straight answer.

If your market does not stack up

We will say so. Thin markets are better served by the free and relationship-driven channels in how to get tree removal leads, starting with your Google Business Profile, and by the slow compounding work described in SEO for tree services.

There is also a plain list of the circumstances in which we would rather you did not spend at all, in when not to buy tree service leads.

FAQs

Frequently asked questions

How is a territory defined?

By a written list of postcodes, agreed before anything starts. Not a radius, not a city name, not a vague region. Loose definitions are how suppliers sell overlapping exclusivity to two businesses in the same market, so insist on postcodes in writing from any supplier and check that the list matches where you will actually drive.

What if my territory is already taken?

We tell you, rather than selling you a diluted version of it. Depending on the market we may be able to offer adjacent postcodes, or put you on a waiting list. Territories do come free, because engagements are month to month and some operators reach capacity and stop.

Do you work in regional areas?

Sometimes. Regional markets can have genuine demand, particularly around storm and fire seasons, but many have too little steady monthly search volume to support paid campaigns. We check before quoting and decline the ones that do not stack up rather than taking the money and underdelivering.

Can I take two adjacent territories?

Yes, if you have the crews to service them. Operators with multiple teams often do. What we will not do is sell you a territory larger than you can reasonably reach, because leads from ninety minutes away become quotes you decline and enquiries the market sees as unanswered.
